Women’s Creative Writing Group

Bird-Song: Writing Practice Group for Women. Teaches basic “Writing Practice” (based on Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down the Bones), a cumulative series of short exercises. Quiet your inner critic, delve into your unconscious, go deeper into your writing, and increase your creativity. Helps you learn how to write, to improve your writing, or to overcome writer’s block. For all genres and all levels of writers.
Tuesday mornings, 10:30 a.m. to noon. In-person only.
Session 1: Begins February 4. Please register by January 21.
Session 2: Begins March 4. Please register by February 18.
Session 3: Begins April 1. Please register by March 18.
Session 4: Begins May 6. Please register by April 22.
Fee: $60 for each four-week session.
Size is limited, please sign up early.
Please bring: a firm writing surface, lots of paper, and several pens.

Patricia Dove Miller has been leading creative writing classes in Grass Valley and San Diego for the past twenty-five years, including those at the Center for the Arts, Gold Country Writers, Sierra Writers Conference, Wild Mt. Yoga Center, and Mt. Stream Meditation Center. She has attended writing workshops with Natalie Goldberg in Taos, and she is an alumna of the Community of Writers at Olympic Valley. Pat holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Vermont College. Her memoir, Bamboo Secrets: One Woman’s Quest Through the Shadows of Japan, was published in 2016.
